Saturday In the Park

Went to the local state park today, just for a drive and a photo adventure. Here are a couple things I spotted!

Fall's Promise

I have always said that autumn is my favorite season. It is still true. I enoy fall. In fact, I relish it! We had a bit of a cool down over the Labor Day weekend. (Which is great because we got out of school early due to heat indices over 100*F just before the weekend. And I don't do heat very well!) It was lovely enough that on Saturday DH and I went to a road near the local airport to watch the annual skydiving event. The breeze was cool, the sun was bright and our spirits were soaring nearly as high as the planes and parachutes! Fall always puts me in the mood to get active. After having been relegated to the realm of air conditioning, it is my chance to get outdoors once more. I'm eager to go caching and letterboxing again! I'm looking forward to visits to the orchard and walks around the neighborhood. And fall always puts me in the mood to visit a great Rennaissance Festival!

Of course the cooler weather also inspires me to get going on all that knitting too! (Now I have a definited date for a baby shower, so we'll see if the baby blanket gets completed in time, or becomes a birth day present.) (There's also the ability to fire up the oven just around the corner too! Oh what goodness comes from there! Homemade cookies and bread! Casseroles for supper! Baked squash and roasted vegetables! Yum!) What special joys does the change in seasons bring to you?

Fall Was In The Air

We had a very fall-like weekend. The high temp yesterday was only 54*F! I finished these socks in a very fall-like colorway last week and am just now getting around to posting.



This is Knit PIcks Felici in the colorway "Clay" (although I keep thinking of Indian Corn when I see them!) I decided to do toe-up and use up each ball completely. Consequently, the feet are a hair too big for me. I'm counting on them shrinking up just a tad when I wash them.

I also started another pair using Paton's Kroy from Hobby Lobby. It's the line called FX and I really like what this colorway is doing!



I'm knitting these with 64 sts to the round and the fabric is coming out dense. I think these are going to make very warm socks!

Yes, I'm on a sock knitting bender. I noticed that most of my hand knit socks were darned at least once, if not more. I have given several pairs away and decided to go on a spree of sock making for myself. In doing so I have decided I LOVE my Kollage square needles!! I'm using the 5" and 6" double points in size US#1. (Although I just got some US#0 today! Yippee!!)

Autumn Colors

Out shooting photos for a variety of projects and ran across this tree the other afternoon. Decided to turn it into a "painting." I finished off the socks I was doing with the new On Line 6-ply. I really like them and they sure knit up quickly.
